I'm supposed to be writing a scholarship essay... so of course I come on here instead. I'm finally not sick anymore. After eight days on amoxicillin I got some crazy rash all over my body. Turns out I'm allergic to it. So not only did it not make me better, but it made my entire body look really gross. I finally got a new medicine and I am pretty sure I'm better now... finally.

I spent the weekend camping up in Weare, N.H. I love camping but that campground is getting a little too power hungry. Other places tell you to have the fire below the ring by a certain time but this place comes around with a 5 gallon bucket of water and if your fire pit isn't cold at exactly 1 a.m. they dump the water on it. I can't be the only person in the campground that likes staying up a little past one right? I don't know. They just need to feel big so they make all these ridiculous rules that they know they can yell at people for every day.

It's thunderstorming out right now. I love it. I'm going to go watch that and continue avoiding this essay.

Start of "Summer"

Well, I've been home for about a week now. I've also been sick for about two weeks now. I finally got to the doctors to find out I had strep. Turns out I had strep all through finals, too. Oops. I've been on amoxicillin for 6 days now and my throat it still not getting any better so I'm probably going to have to call them up tomorrow to make sure I'm not dying. I got my grades back for this semester, A, A-, A-, B+, B. Still no word on my Russian grade... I'm sure I could have done better but taking six class was a bad idea and I will know to never again do it in the future.

I still haven't found a job. I've applied to a couple of places around Dracut that have all seemed really eager and needed people to work but none of them have gotten back to me yet. I feel like it's been forever since I've applied but I guess it's only been a week. I still really need a job if I intend to live in Europe for the next year. I just got my airfare bill. A round trip flight from Boston to London and then another flight to St. Petersburg is only $620!! The surcharge/taxes/gas add on another $480 of course. Gas prices are getting ridiculous. When I started driving (only 4 years ago) gas was at $1.17. It's now at $3.77. I remember last month freaking out when they jumped to $2.25. This can't go on forever. I can't even apply to jobs up in Nashua (where there are plenty of jobs to be found) because I would use my entire paycheck on gas to get up there. Until I get an actual job I'll be working on a quilt that my aunt asked me to make. I used to taking sewing lessons a long time ago. I think I was in 4th grade or something? I made some really nice things but my aunt seemed to think that I still have some skill in me... I kind of doubt it. It took me a good half hour just to get my sewing machine into working condition.

The weather has been pretty crappy. I've spent most of the break reading or at the gym. Today was fairly warm but it's been so windy out. We tried to have a bonfire last night but we had a few close scares with flames too close to trees. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend so of course I'll be camping. I can't wait. Smelling the fire last night made me want to camp so badly. It's also supposed to warm up so I'm hoping to attempt a tan.

Well I'm going to go wander around the house looking for something to do. Maybe I will actually start that quilt now that my machine is working...

So Close To Freedom...

Well, it's been a while since I've had a chance to update... it's been a while since I've had a chance to breathe to be honest. Today is officially the last day of class at Stonehill. Which means it's also my last day of classes here for over a year! Wheaton still has classes tomorrow so I'm not entirely in the clear yet. I handed in a nice 18 page paper this morning and I almost don't know what to do with myself. I've been in such a constant state of working that I forget what I do with myself when I'm not working. I don't have to worry about that for long of course because Finals are right around the corner. I do, however, have 5 days off before my first final. I have one Wednesday, three Thursday and one Friday and then I'm moving out!

I've been officially accepted to Russia. Wooo! And four months from today I will be stepping off a plane into the most foreign country on my list of places traveled so far. Aside from school work I've had to fill out dozens of papers, forms, and applications just to get this going. I still need to do my visa application and get a physical but the hardest parts are done (I hope!). Although this means that now I need to start my applications for my internship in Dublin. I think I'm going to get all of that done in my free time before finals.

Well I've been writing non stop for two days now and writing this blog is just bringing back bad memories of my paper! Until next time...
