There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays!

Monday, January 2, 2012

Since my last post I've managed to survive not only finals but also the holidays!  Despite getting very sick before my last final everything went as smoothly as can be expected (and by smoothly I mean they were some of the most difficult exams I've ever taken but I think I at least passed them all).

After my last final I managed to squeeze in all of my Christmas shopping, pack up a suitcase for home, and attend the 12 Pubs of Christmas tour before heading home on the 21st.  My airport and flight experience went smooth and I was greeted at Logan by my mom and a large Dunkin's iced coffee!

I've spent most of the last week traveling around visiting family and friends and enjoying a lot of great company. Christmas was wonderful and I had such a fun time ringing in the New Year with friends.

It is very nice to see everyone here but it has made me realize how much of a life I have already set up for myself in Dublin.  I still have a week and a half here that I'm going to make the most of, but I'm also looking forward to getting back to Dublin.  It's crazy to think that Dublin will be the longest I've lived in one place since I was in high school.  Dracut, of course, will always be home but I tend to only find myself here for short stints between living in other places.

I feel like this post should have some deep and profound New Years reflection but I always feel weird mulling over a year gone by.  Either way it is amazing to see where I was a year ago and where that has led me to today.  I've had so many great experiences and met so many wonderful people in the past 12 months that I can only hope 2012 will continue that trend!

  1. Why did you do your Christmas shopping in Dublin when you could have gone to the glorious Natick mall?!?!?!
