2013

Once again I am blindsided by the end of one year and the start of a new one.

I had high hopes of doing a 'year in review' post however I'm not feeling great, so I am going to keep it short.

Overall it has been an amazing year.  I rang in the year with my best friends at my favorite bar and soon afterwards I was back to Dublin to start my second semester in grad school.  I traveled around Ireland with friends that came to visit, took a trip to Belgium, and attended the Smurfit Ball.  My family came to visit  in April and we had our super sneaky 25th renewal ceremony for my parents. I traveled back home in May to throw my sister a baby shower and even had some semi warm weather in Dublin for a few days when I returned!  I attempted to become a runner, saw the Olympic Torch, saw a few great concerts in Dublin, and took a wonderful trip to Scotland.  I welcomed my niece into the world from Ireland, then completed my masters degree!  I sadly had to leave Ireland but then found the perfect job after only a month of being unemployed.  I camped with the family, had a girls weekend away, and ran a 5k.  I then got a car.... and a puppy.  I returned to Dublin one more time for my graduation and then celebrated Christmas with my newly expanded family.

I don't think I could recreate this year even if I tried.  It was as close to perfect as possible which sets a pretty high bar for next year but I think I'm up for the challenge.

I don't have any specific resolutions for the next year.  I can take the easy way out and just direct you to my 25 in 25 list which can also act as my resolution list.  I'm making good progress so I think it's feasible that I will get them all done by the time I turn 26.

Last night was pretty low key... just played cards and games with friends.  I was home before one, loaded up on Nyquil and fast asleep in no time.

I don't know if starting a new year sick is a sign of anything to come, but let's hope I feel better for the rest of the year than I do today!
