A Winter Trip To The Beach

Sunday, March 10, 2013

Today was another beautiful (albeit snow covered) day.  My parents decided that they were going to drive up to the beach to look for cottages for this summer.  Since I missed last summer's trip while I was  in Ireland, I was eager to get up there, even if it was going to be cold and far from summer like.

We spent a few hours checking out cottages before we finally decided on one.  It's pretty small but we spend so much of the time outside that it doesn't really matter to us what it looks like on the inside.
Unfortunately Mac's Shack was not available

After that we stopped into Seaglass for a late lunch/early dinner where I got my seafood craving fix.

And really, what an amazing view to eat by!

After that we check out some storm damage.  This has been a pretty devastating winter for much of the MA/NH coastline.  This is some, but definitely not the worst, of the damage the coast has seen.

I often look at other blogs and feel jealous about the awesome places they live, whether it's another state or another county, but I sometime forget how lucky I am to live so close to the ocean.  It is truly a beautiful sight and I know that no matter how hard I tried I could not live far from it.

  1. I feel your pain with the storm damage. I'm from central/coastal NJ and we got murdered. I haven't been down to visit it since the storm, but I really want to get involved in some community service and clean up efforts this summer.

    1. It's really sad. I just hope they'll be able to recover from it. I know in some place in MA houses just have to be torn down because they aren't safe anymore.

  2. I would love to visit the beaches up north! I'm used to all of the palm trees and tropical business down here, but there's something so simple and breathtaking about they way they look in New York and Maine. I think walking on a snowy beach would be so beautiful!

    1. They are definitely beautiful but I would LOVE to be on a tropical beach right now! Ours are pretty to look at in the winter but I cannot wait for the summer and warmth to get here!

  4. I miss the ocean so much, can't wait to come back.
I've already seen all the damage that has been done to the MA beaches, so sad about it.
Glad you got to spend some relaxing time at the beach.
